October 18, 2013 State keeps Kodiak in subsistence zone

The Alaska boards of fish and game have rejected a proposal to make Kodiak a non-subsistence hunting and fishing area.

The proposal, brought by a Fairbanks man, was turned down by a 1-11 margin during a joint meeting of the fish and game boards in Anchorage. One member of the two boards was absent, and another member abstained from the vote.
